The NIGH****CHMAN - Monday - 7/20
Evening all,
Not much new here. Spent some time with my peeps tonight in Allen, Sara was great to see you, it's been way too long!! Don't be afraid to reach out (like I have any room to talk) we're here for you... I'm the same way, if I think I've done bad, having a rotten day, I have a tendancey to hide out... I know that's not good, and I am trying to be better.. Trying to get ready to head out of town for a few days, since my life is in limbo... going to head back to Nebraska to visit my Mom. Planning on leaving Thursday morning, and will be back the next Wednesday.. Figured this was a good time before DD starts back to school since her social calendar has calmed down. Let's see, I have 5 more years before she graduates.... Is there enough Calgon?? Not even going to start dying the gray, hoping I age gracefully...
Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests. Specail healing prayers for Elizabeth Grace and all of her friends at St Judes, special prayers for all of the parents of these special children, and all of the doctors and nurses caring for them. Blessings to all of our nurses tonight, you are truely special people. Blessings to all.

Hi George;
Yes! I'm alive. It's been a crazy few days. Sorry I've been AWOL.
My Thursday afternoon interview was good. The guy I interviewed with seemed to come into the interview with an attitude that I wasn't qualified, but I was able to prove to him I do have the skills for this job. He sent me some additional paperwork and assessments to fill out and is talking about another interview this Friday or early next week and he told me if I get the job, I'll be starting on 8/3. And, I still haven't gotten the brush off from Komen, so that's been a surprise as well. The job fair on Thursday evening was a complete waste. They had said there would be 15 companies there. Only 5 actually showed up and I had already turned down jobs from two of them. I only stayed for 40 minutes and then hit the road southbound. When I got home, I emailed my placement counselor @ the TWC to let her know how the week had gone.
Friday, Liz and Amy arrived for tubing. Saturday, we tubed during the day and had a big dinner of fajitas after. Liz, Amy, Becky and Lisa were all here for dinner (in addition to a bunch of other non-OH peeps). We still have food left over. Oy! Yesterday, Liz headed out and we took Amy to the airport for her 4:30 flight. After we dropped Amy at the airport, we went to the grocery, to pick up the dry cleaning and hit the ATM so Michael would be ready to leave for Altanta this morning. I got a text from Amy that her flight had been canceled because of the weather at DFW and the next flight she could get on was at 9:40am today. So we went back to the airport to pick her up and came back to the house.
I was up at 4:30 this morning to take Michael to the airport, came home, slept from 5:30-7:30 and woke up to take Amy to the airport. By 8:30am, I'd already completed two round trips to SAT today. Ugh. I came home, applied for 4 jobs, filled out the paperwork from Thursday's interview and started to get ready to meet Maida when I got a call from Central Booking that there was a request to show our house at 1:45. That was no problem because I already had plans to be away, but I needed to do some quick clean up from the weekend (picking up all the dirty towels, run the vacuum, neaten up the beds, etc.). I ended up getting out of here an hour later than I'd planned because of having to clean up for it to be showing ready.
I got to Round Rock @ 2pm. Maida and I went to lunch, had some wonderful conversation, went back to her house for some delish coffee and then went to Fleming's for a dinner of appetizers (she had a gift certificate that was expiring today). She was kind enough to give me her Chi. (It's a hair straightening thing. I have to try it out tomorrow to see if I can make myself appear more respectible on a regular basis.) I got back home around 10pm and have been getting caught up on FB and OH posts since then. I've been trying very, very hard to not get caught up in the fact that today is 3 months that I've been laid off.
I was planning to go to sleep a while ago, but I found Serendipity on Bravo and I love this movie. It takes place in NY and SF, my two favorite American cities. I love that I've been to so many of the places featured in it.
I've already found 6 more jobs to apply for in the morning and am looking forward to getting back to a regular workout schedule now that the house is officially for sale and in a manageable state all of the time.
Have a good night George. Prayers for all who need them.
